As an Early Learning Corps member, tutors help kids ages 3-5 develop early literacy and math skills. Tutors receive special training on how to use evidence-based instruction, activities, and data to prepare preschoolers for elementary school.

Early Learning Corps tutors make a demonstrated impact: preschoolers who received tutoring substantially outperformed their peers in literacy outcomes.

  • Competency with basic computer skills (email, navigating online)
  • Fluency in English for speaking, reading, and writing
  • 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent

All AmeriCorps members must: 

  • Have served less than four AmeriCorps service terms
  • Be able to pass a criminal history background check
  • Be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the U.S.
