The Ecolibrium3 Energy Training Corps is a direct service program serving as a step into energy efficiency, sustainability, and/or trade work. Energy Training Corps members will contribute to making homes more energy-efficient while gaining valuable skills in the field of energy conservation. As an Energy Training Corps Member, you will be trained to conduct home energy assessments and implement weatherization measures, helping to reduce energy consumption and lower utility bills for families in our community.
Energy Training Corps is part of Ecolibrium3 (Eco3), a community-based organization in Duluth, MN, that works at the intersection of energy, equity, and economic vitality. Eco3 has been nationally recognized for innovative programs that advance environmental justice, address energy poverty, and provide on-the-ground experiences for AmeriCorps members.
What you’ll do as an Energy Training Corps member:
- Learn and apply techniques to conduct comprehensive home energy assessments, including the use of diagnostic tools to identify areas of energy loss and inefficiency.
- Gain hands-on experience in weatherization practices such as air sealing, insulation installation, and other measures to improve home energy performance.
- Educate homeowners about energy-saving practices and the benefits of weatherization, providing guidance and resources to support their efforts.
- Maintain accurate records of assessments, weatherization work performed, and interactions with clients to ensure effective service delivery and reporting.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions to enhance your knowledge and skills in energy efficiency and weatherization techniques.

- Energy Training Corps member receive coverage of OSHA 40 training and the BPI Building Analyst Professional Training Certification.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED
- At least 18 years old
- Interest in energy efficiency, sustainability, and community service
- Capable of participating in physical labor including but not limited to: life 50 pounds, able to conduct repetitive hand, arm, and leg motions, and able to maneuver in tight spaces
- Basic math skills
