About Heading Home Corps
Heading Home Corps engages a team of Housing Resource Navigators to help Minnesotans work towards safe and stable housing.
Serving at local organizations and government agencies, Housing Resource Navigators support individuals experiencing homelessness – navigating resources and supports to secure safe and stable housing. Navigators establish a relationship with each individual on their caseload and will work with that individual to assess their unique needs, set goals, and sit side-by-side to help navigate resources to overcome barriers and ultimately achieve their goals.
- Foster strong relationships with participants
- Guide participants in creatng housing-related goals
- Track participant progress
- Connect participants with social service resources and programs
- Commit to your own growth through training and professional development
- Dependable and have a history of good attendance
- Able to set a pace and maintain a service schedule, depending on the agreed upon hours commitment
- Proficient in basic computer skills (like email and navigating online)
- Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing
- 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
All AmeriCorps members must:
- Have served less than four AmeriCorps service terms
- Be able to pass a criminal history background check
- Be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the U.S.
