
About True North AmeriCorps
True North AmeriCorps increases the capacity of community partners to meet the needs of youth in the Duluth and Proctor areas.
Located within the Duluth YMCA, True North AmeriCorps members serve local youth in grades K-8, increasing youth social and emotional learning skills through enrichment programming, individualized support, and targeted skill building.
- Support students in schools, after-school programs, and community programs
- Help students to be successful both in school and within their communities
Essential Qualifications
- Interest in working with school-age youth
- Ability to communicate with people of different backgrounds
- Basic computer skills including email and word processing
- Commitment to the entire service term
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED by the service start date
All AmeriCorps members must:
- Have served less than four AmeriCorps service terms
- Be able to pass a criminal history background check
- Be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the U.S.
