
About Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity
Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity engages a broad network of supporters and community members to create, preserve, and promote affordable homeownership in the Twin Cities. Habitat for Humanity is the largest affordable homeownership builder in the Twin Cities area.
AmeriCorps members with Habitat for Humanity help build and improve access to affordable housing. They can serve in a leadership role on an active build site or in the office assisting families, volunteers, and staff. Service opportunities range from full year to three-month summer positions.
- Provide support to construction site supervisor
- Facilitate on-site educational activities with volunteers
- As needed and assigned, lead crews of volunteers and homebuyers on the construction site
- Participate in AmeriCorps-related activities as assigned, including orientations and national events
- Complete administrative responsibilities
- Perform minor maintenance tasks on assigned construction vehicle
Essential Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Successfully pass background and fingerprint checks
- Must submit contact information for one professional reference
- All AmeriCorps members must:
- Have served less than four AmeriCorps service terms
- Be able to pass a criminal history background check
- Be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the U.S.
